It’s been a busy two weeks in Room 4! The Veterans Day program last week was very nice. I heard several comments about how well-behaved and respectful the first graders were. Way to go! A new student started in Room 4 last week. Now we have 20 students – 6 boys and 14 girls. There was also much talk on Monday about the new prince and princess at the Snow Queen program last Saturday. For art this week we made some Thanksgiving pictures and turkeys.
We have added Social Studies and Science to our first grade schedule. Mrs. Bosch is teaching science for both classes and I am teaching the social studies. The students are excited about learning new things. Each class meets 30 minutes twice a week. Ask your child about these new classes.
The November reading logs can be turned in next Tuesday, November 25th or following vacation on Monday, December 1st. Thank you for your help with this project.
On Wednesday notices came home about Family Night Bingo. It will be in the Freeman Davis gym on Monday, November 24th from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This is a free event for all Mobridge-Pollock Elementary families. We hope you will be able to attend! All exterior doors will be unlocked so parking will be easier and it will be closer to enter the building. A Thanksgiving basket will be given away at the end of the night.
The First Grade - Kindergarten Winter Concert will be Thursday, December 11th at 7:00 p.m. in the Middle School Theater.
Thanksgiving Break will be November 26th – November 30th with no school on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday next week. School will resume on Monday, December 1st. I hope you enjoy some great family time together!
Until next time,
Mrs. Mack
