Dear Families,
Things are going well in Room 4. Last week our SUPER students were named for September. They are Brooke Merkel, Marshall Edwards, and Chloe Christman. This year the students are interviewed before their paper is put in the display case. We also worked on our Getting to Know posters. We made posters for Shayla, Nicholas, Brodie, Paislee, Audryana, Amya, and Aileen. On Wednesday, September 24th all first graders will be taking a field trip to Krause Apple Orchard. We will be gone most of the afternoon, but we’ll be back by 3:10 p.m. Students will get a chance to pick apples and bring them home. Please be sure your child wears tennis/athletic shoes, not sandals for the field trip. Conferences are next week on Monday, September 28th and Thursday, October 1st. Your conference invitation is also coming home today. Please let me know if the scheduled time will not work, so we can find a time that will. I look forward to visiting with each of you. It would be great if we could have 100% attendance. There will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, October 2nd. Until next time, Mrs. Mack Dear Families,
We are off to a SUPER start in Room 4. J It was a little warm last week, but the cooler weather has made for some great learning this week. We have 25 students this year – 12 boys and 13 girls. We are two weeks into our reading and math groups and they are going well. The first book order came home last Friday and the orders were due today. I will be placing the order on Saturday. If you still wish to order, you can place an online order tonight. Our code is DVTV6, This week we started our “Getting to Know…” project. We are making a poster for each student to help their classmates get to know them better. Wyatt and Brooke were our first students to make their poster. For the past two weeks we have been reading books by Mo Willems. The students have really enjoyed the Pigeon and Elephant and Piggie books. We also drew pictures of the Pigeon. They are on display in our hallway. Please mark your calendar. There will be a 1:45 p.m. dismissal next Friday, September 18 for Staff Development. Until next time, Mrs. Mack |
