We are off to a great start in Room 4! This year we have 17 students – 7 girls and 10 boys. It has been fun getting to know each other. The Me Bags were a fun way to get to know a little bit more about each other. Thanks for your help with this project. The students also enjoyed their letters from their families on the first day. We had great participation in both projects. Way to go, families! ☺.
Our newsletters will be coming home most Fridays. Watch for the orange sheets of paper. I try to use them for school-home communication. Please check the book bags daily for work and other notices. You also may check the website for news from Room 4. You can go on using the address on the cards you got at open house or

This week we heard the story of “Little Red Riding Hood” in three different versions. We did some comparing and contrasting of the different stories. We also made puppets to go along with the story. I hope your first grader could tell you the story. We also learned some poems about the beginning of school and traffic safety. The class had fun with the rhyme, “Cookie Jar.” A lot of our day was spent getting back into the routine of school. That should serve us well next week with our first five day week.
