It’s been a busy week in Room 4! The first grade field trip to Pierre on Tuesday was a huge success. It was a perfect attendance day in first grade and everyone had a good time. Even though it was raining when we left Mobridge, it was great weather in Pierre. There were so many things to see and do at the Discovery Center. Did you ask your child what was their favorite thing at the Discovery Center? We had a picnic lunch in the park before driving by the Capitol building and heading for home.
We finished with the Student of the Week bulletin boards this week. Last week it was Delaney’s turn and this week Amani had her things on the board. This was a fun project as we got to know our classmates a little better.
This week the reading logs for May were due. We had four students who completed eight or more reading logs. They were treated to a DQ lunch on Wednesday. Congratulations to Mikayla, Jeremiah, Wyatt, and Ashton. Other students who turned in one or more reading logs were treated to a free book. Thanks for your help with this project.
Friday afternoon found us at Tiger Stadium for Freeman Davis Track and Field Day. The students had fun competing in their races and field events.
The last day of school will be Tuesday, May 23rd. There will be a 1:00 dismissal. Report cards will be mailed home. Please send a grocery sack with your child on the last day, so they can bring their things home.
Until next time,
Mrs. Mack
