First of all, thanks to everyone who came to conferences. :) We had 95% attendance, not the 100% I’d hoped for, but quite good! We really are a team, trying to provide a good first grade experience for your child. Communication is the key!
The highlight of our week was the trip to Krause Apple Orchard on Wednesday. The first graders were excellent on the bus. They enjoyed seeing the apple sorter and big bins of apples. It is quite a walk to the orchard, but they did really well. The students enjoyed picking the apples and were excited about their bag of 10 apples. I hope they shared some with you. I will be posting some pictures on the website this weekend.
Our art work this week tied in with Native American Day and the orchard visit. Mrs. Monica provided the tipis for the first graders. We also made some star quilt designs. The class also enjoyed making the 3-D apples. They were such good listeners and carefully followed directions.
The October students to buzz about were Rex and Marayha. Their pictures are posted in the glass case by the front entry. Way to go! :)
